So I've decided that Matthew has to be the smartest baby there ever was. It didn't take him long (about a day or so) to figure out that if he kept his hands away from his mouth, I could get the food to him faster! So now everytime he is ready for another bite he simply holds his hands out so that I have complete access to his mouth and once the food is in, he uses his hands to make sure it stays in his mouth.
He has also learned that when the food is all gone I have to clean him off and get him out of his highchair before he gets his bottle. Hopefully the day is fast approaching when he can hold his own bottle and I won't have to feed him... maybe then I'll be able to eat my dinner before it gets cold cause it never fails that when we sit down to eat Matthew decides it is also time for him to eat. I am, however, getting better at eating with my left hand so that way i get to eat something while it is still hot.
But for now I will just enjoy the time we get to cuddle together while I feed him his bottle for I know the day will come when he will no longer want to cuddle with mom and will be doing everything on his own.
Here are some more pictures of Matthew's mealtimes:
Iris learned real quick to keep her hair out of the reach of Matthew! |
